Licensing
The United States Soccer Federation (USSF)
hosts two separate state licensing courses
for coaching education, the "E" and the "D".
These courses are designed to give coaches
the knowledge necessary to instruct youth
players U5 through U12. Students of these
courses will learn how to properly organize
and plan a single topic progressive
technical training session. The focus for
youth developmental players is technical
skill training and these courses are ideal
for someone coaching in this age range.
"E" Course - The "E" course is a
one-weekend course (Friday - Sunday) for a
total of 16 hours of training. This course
covers the basic technical skills needed for
training youth developmental players. The
course will instruct coaches on the
organization and management of a technical
training session.
"D" Course - The "D" course runs for two
consecutive weekends for a total of 32 hours
of training. This course covers more
advanced technical skills needed for
training youth developmental players. The
course will instruct coaches on the
organization, planning and implementation of
a technical training session. The course

psychology and team manag
